POA Committee

The POA Committee is a team of friendly parents covering all year groups, who come from a range of professional backgrounds. We volunteer our time to help support the school with the key objective of creating an inclusive community and enhancing learning experiences 💜

The Committee is super welcoming and we’d love you to consider joining, so here’s a bit more info…

What does the Committee do?

  • Support fundraising initiatives by assisting with planning, promotion, and event delivery.
  • Volunteer at events and help coordinate other volunteers where needed.
  • Each member should be part of an event planning group or lead on key POA initiative.
  • Attend regular (one per term) meetings and contribute to discussions and decision-making.
  • Support the responsible use of POA funds adhering to our Constitution and process.
  • Encourage Aldrington community to get involved. Always!

Meet some of the Committee and see what they have to say 😊

How much time does it involve?

On a weekly basis, not much! But depending on which events/initiatives you lead on this will vary.

Events are spaced through the school year and some timings can be adjusted to ensure availability. But each event, has 5-10 event planners – so you’ll not be alone!

The level of involvement depends on individual availability, but active participation is encouraged to help the POA achieve its goals.

Skills and qualities

Each member brings unique experiences and ideas to the table, and has these qualities:

  • Enthusiastic and committed to supporting the school.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Organised and reliable.
  • Willing to contribute ideas and take part in committee activities.
  • Take responsibility (asking for help if needed!)
  • Flexible and willing to volunteer time for meetings and events.
