This award is a new initiative sponsored by the POA to recognise children who demonstrate exceptional involvement, dedication, and positive contributions to POA events.
Presented twice a year, the awards aims to celebrate helpfulness, community spirit, and active participation in school life.
🤔 Award Criteria
Children may be nominated for the award based on contributions such as:
Supporting and promoting events
Hanging posters or helping to distribute promotional materials; assisting with ticket sales; encouraging participation and creating interest among other children and families.
Volunteering at events
Helping to set up stalls, decorations, or activity areas; assisting with audio/visual equipment; supporting stallholders during the event; helping with pack-down, litter collection, or general clean-up.
Demonstrating a positive attitude
Showing enthusiasm, kindness, and willingness to help at PO events; going above and beyond to support success of events; modelling responsibility and teamwork.
🗳️ Nomination and voting process
POA Committee members will nominate a child (except their own!) and include a short explanation of why the nominee deserves the award. Nominations will be shared at the nearest POA meeting and a vote will held to make a decision collectively.
🏆 Award presentation
The award will be presented twice a year during school assembly in January and July. These timings align with the two largest POA events (Fairs) to ensure recognition of recent contributions.
📣 Promoting the award
To ensure families and children are aware of the opportunity to get involved:
- WhatsApp announcements will be sent to explain the initiative and how to participate.
- How to participate info will be included in all event pages.
- Parents or children can contact @ before POA events to express interest in helping.
- Children can speak to any POA event team member (wearing a purple t-shirt!) on the day of an event to be assigned a role.
