Volunteer info

Thank you so much for volunteering at the Summer Fair event – without you it wouldn’t be possible! Here are some top tips to prepare you for the day:

Before the day

  • If you’re now unable to volunteer, please ask your year group to find a replacement.
  • Please don’t cancel at the last minute (unless it’s an emergency of course!) as it places stress on other volunteers/can lead to disappointment if stalls are cancelled.
  • Download iZettle app to take card/phone payments. For those on paying stalls, you’ll receive an automated email to create an account. It’s super easy!

On the day

  • Arrive 10 mins before your start time to familiarise yourself with your stall (and prevent the previous volunteer from worrying they have no one to pass onto!)
  • Games will have (simple!) instructions.
  • People can pay cash or card/phone via iZettle. Please keep your stall’s cash float safe (with the lid on when not in use).
  • The POA Team are easy to spot – look out for purple t-shirts like this! We’re friendly and knowledgable (but may be slightly frazzled!)

Map of the Fair

This map of the playground shows where stalls/toilets/water stations are:

And here’s some other info…

  • Water stations: at cafe
  • Toilets: Adults use Disabled toilet, children use Y6 toilets. No others should be used.
  • Two bin stations. Children from the Eco-Committee will be litter picking too!
  • First Aiders: Steph Warner, Hannah Clarke and Vicky Pateman. They’ll be wearing a POA t-shirt.

And finally…

It’s expected to be hot and you may not have access to shade, so be prepared for sun!

Please be flexible. Your help may be needed elsewhere than originally planned, so please support your fellow volunteers.
